The Significance of March 8th
Since 1910, International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8th. It is a day meant to honour and appreciate the many achievements of women throughout history and a call for recognition of the impact women have had on society in all aspects of life. From politics to art, from education to business, women have made significant contributions that have shaped our world, and each and every person.
This day is an opportunity to show gratitude to the female mentors in our lives who have supported us on our own journeys and helped us become the best versions of ourselves.

Expressing Gratitude and Appreciation through Artisanal Flowers
Floratique Florals seeks to first prioritise quality and attention to detail when it comes to floral arrangements. To create unique and bespoke arrangements using the finest blooms available, and through an intentional design process, striving to create the ideal gift that will leave a lasting positive impression on someone's day.
To celebrate the women in your lives, Floratique Florals has curated a special International Women's Day Floral Collection. In this collection, you can expect to see hints of purple throughout each arrangement, as it is the colour that symbolises dignity, ambition, and power. In addition, the new month of March also coincides with the arrival of the Autumn season, and we will seek to bring that feeling of evening warmth to every design.
Aside from these colours, yellow also features prominently, as the International Women's Day flower, the mimosa flower, is actually also our Australian national emblem, the golden wattle flower.
Wattle flowers are unfortunately out of season at this time of the year, but tulips are beginning to pop up at the markets. Yellow tulips also make for a great neutral flower, and is often the popular gift for friends.
Giving Back: How You Can Support Vulnerable Women
Additionally, in celebration of this day, Floratique Florals is offering the option for customers to donate any amount they wish upon checkout, with all donations going towards the Sydney Women's Fund. The Sydney Women's Fund is a non-profit organisation that runs programs to help local vulnerable women, focusing on low socio-economic areas of Sydney. Some of the women they help include young mothers, older women, domestic violence survivors, Indigenous people, migrants, and asylum seekers.
Thus, for International Women's Day 2023, Floratique Florals would like to ask you, our customers, to consider the gift of flowers for the special women in your lives.
